                                    Getting Through

This is my third year at Animas and I have been enjoying every moment of it. This year I have made growth in my ability to prioritize and stay on top of my expectations at school. This year I am working on developing habits that will allow me to be successful in my future pursuits. This process includes planning my time carefully, prioritizing my work with extra-curricular activities, and taking on new challenges I may face in the real world such as holding a job. I have recently started a job at the Durango Sports Club and I am learning how to manage multiple sets of expectations from my family, work, school, as well as my own expectations and desires.

                                    AHS Community

Animas High School has truly shaped who I am today. We have a great community which help each student to foster amazing relationships with friends. Each student strives to achieve their fullest potential and keep an open mind toward the outside world. I personally love the people I am surrounded with in the Animas community. The teachers push us to find relevance and take pride in our work. The students are committed to their school and there is a constant love for learning. I am pushed to reach my goals and attempt to better myself with each project, assignment, and reflection. I have developed many close friendships with people who have similar aspirations as myself and who find beauty in Durango outdoor (life) and a love for learning.
